Kerala
has made its contribution to the science of
Architecture.
The influence of non-Kerala style can be strongly seen in the varied architectural styles of Temples, Churches, Mosques and Palaces. One comes across buildings that bear the influence of south Indian styles. Traditional houses known as Nalukettu were built in accordance with scientific architectural principles expounded in the manushyalaya chandrika, a work dealing exclusively with domestic architecture. The temple has a distinct architectural style. The rock cut temples are the earliest known temples. Many temples have their walls made of wood.
In the early period Christians built there churches after the model of temples. This tradition continued till the coming of Portuguese in 15 th century.
Mosque architecture drew inspiration from Persian and Turkish tradition. The traditional Kerala mosque is a simple two strayed building with tiled roof. |

 We consider the month ‘Karkidakom’ (June, July) the best period for taking treatment and precautions. Because all doshas (vatha, pitha, kapha) has been precipitated during this period, we can get the opportunity to eliminate the deranged doshas at this time.There are three stages during the course of the treatment. The stages are Pre-processing Stage, Processing Stage, and Post-processing Stage .During the Pre-processing Stage, the patient will be given special medicine with a special dose, to prepare the patient for the panchakarma therapy. This therapy lasts from one week onwards. The Processing Stage may last for seven days to more than
twenty-eight days. The main processes are done during this stage. The Post-processing Stage, also called 'Resting Stage' takes the same duration as the processing stage. The period of treatment may also vary according to the nature of disease and the person, as per the doctors’ advice. At the beginning of the treatment the person may feel uneasiness, weakness and pain. This is a positive sign for the treatment.During the time of treatment and rest the person should follow special diet and regimens. All the ayurvedic process is not taken with a full stomach. The person is supposed to take light food, drinks, semi solid food etc. Laboratory investigation may help to consider the intensity of disease condition. People undergoing treatment are required to produce all revelant documents related to their past and present treatments. |
